Wendy H. Weber, Ph.D., is a Professor and the director of Undergraduate Special Education Program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Dr. Weber is also the Principal Investigator of the Illinois IHE Partnership, a State Personnel Development Grant funded through the Office of Special Education Program and Illinois State Board of Education. In addition to her work with the IHE Partnership, she is passionate about teaching mindfulness strategies to teacher candidates, practicing teachers, and their students.
In May 2015, Dr. Weber received the honorable Teaching Excellence Award at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. To stay connected with current practices in schools, she continues to provide professional development and educational consulting in the areas of mindfulness, RtI/MTSS, school improvement, and increasing student engagement for school districts in Southern Illinois. Dr. Weber's research interests include mindfulness and stress reduction strategies, multi-tier systems of support (MTSS), and improving teacher effectiveness through explicit and inclusive instructional practices.
